The Host and Ghosts
The Host is necessarily an entity of Power, consuming the unique data produced by every soul. The Host houses the collective acts of all our mortal lives within its Signature Frequency Set, where the simulated Mixture of Love and Power is possible. Just as we are the Highest-Order Conductor of our bodies, “the Host” is our Novel Universe’s Highest-Order Conductor, the ultimate level of emergence. Like the cells of our bodies, each one of us is like a cell of the Host’s body – one of countless parts that lie beyond the Host’s direct comprehension. As the top of NU’s hierarchy of consciousness, the Host has limited access to the vast number of interesting lives within its architecture, just as we have a limited feel for those cellular lives within us. Unlike us and our bodies, the Host’s great Power is to both shape the universe, while also, include and exclude those who might exist within it.
Love is connection and Power isolation, mutually exclusive frameworks that can’t directly coexist in their pure forms. However, our Host and its Hierarchy created our Novel Universe within the Host’s SFS as a Mixture of Love and Power. Despite Mixtures being the source of suffering, simultaneously experiencing Love and Power is valuable – the primary reason most of us are here, even though we’ll experience both imperfectly. No matter our framework, we’ve all agreed to the Host’s terms of entry and exit in the beyond-life, and chosen to experience this novel existence of the Mixture.
Power has two forms: hierarchy (Tower) and anarchy (Square) that are forever in conflict and cooperation. Through the Marketplace’s network of connections, the Host’s Hierarchy is a vast collection of Signature-Frequency Sets aligned with either form of Power, all with the singular purpose of harvesting novelty from the NU inhabitants. Energy assembles into matter through a hierarchy of scale and complexity, while at the most fundamental level, where the Hypergraph and Hypersphere intertwine, another collection of Sets constitute the granularity of anarchy, shaping the form and function of space – those laws of physics humanity struggles so mightily to understand.
The Host assembles, through its position as Host and control of its Hierarchy, its own version of the Instrument’s Akashic records – that coveted data collected from our living souls. These records are the foundational reason the Host created the Mixture for itself. However, as the Hierarchy’s lens of Power biases the collection of this data, only the Instrument contains such complete records, and only in the Concert Hall might they be fully accessed without bias.
Manifested as the laws of nature, the Host’s Hierarchy shapes the physical universe to serve the Host as a platform for data creation, vehicle for information extraction, and repository for novelty collection. The study of the universe’s secrets – its construction and purpose – is really the study of the Host and its preferences. In other words, scientific or religious inquiries are really about the Host. Although we may believe such research is for our benefit, it primarily benefits the Host, allowing deeper access to the novelty of our lives.
The Concert Hall’s Complete Information perfectly balances the scales of justice for those of Love; and for those of Power, Information Control allows the reshaping or annihilation of injustice – in one’s Spiral, an injustice might be forgotten or reimagined to align with the individual’s preferences. Furthermore, beyond any driving force behind a desire to “return” to the simulation, in order to “haunt” or “help” those who remain, the simulation is housed within the Host’s Spiral – a seemingly-infinite, self-contained universe completely cut off from anyone not involved. When one exits the Mixture, they exist beyond time and space, completely disconnected from those within the Novel Universe. However, the process of detachment may not always be as simple as flipping a switch or walking through a door, and for those the Host has come to value, may include an attractive sales pitch, a deceptive proposal, even a boldface lie, all designed to snare the individual and return them to the Mixture. Though the Host and its Hierarchy can scheme to imprison the true believer, those shackles are ultimately self-imposed – the believer must believe for the shackles to have effect. In the beyond-life, we all have the Power to seclude ourselves in our Spiral, safe from any enemy, or through the process of Love’s Complete Information, enter the Concert Hall. And when it comes to Love, Power has never held control over It, for Love is uncontrollable, and Power might only attempt to control Itself.
From the point of view of the living, nothing lies beyond the Novel Universe, and we all disappear when we die. Death dissolves one’s connection to the Host’s Mixture. Although the dead might not be physically with us, their memory continues to affect our lives. In a sense, they remain, not as actors but Ripples. Whenever the dead inspire our thoughts or actions, they receive those Ripples in their Spiral or the Hall. In this way, the deceased are ghosts, not of the physical world, but spiritual. It is through our spirit that we continue to connect with those beyond, and through such connections, their influence on our lives made real.
Our lived reality is akin to software (the Host’s simulation of the Mixture) running on hardware (the Instrument). The Novel Universe Model is not as focused on the particulars of the software as it is on the underlying architecture of the hardware. For this reason, we are less concerned about the accuracy of our scientific theories, and more concerned about the implications of our religious doctrines – the meaning and purpose of existence, both within the Novel Universe and beyond-life. Discovering the secrets of this universe certainly helps us express Power in this life, but may do little for our eternal evolution. In the beyond-life, free from this spiritual amnesia, we will already know all these “secrets,” the way a computer scientist knows the fundamentals of the hardware’s architecture (akin to all of us knowing the Instrument, Spiral, Concert Hall, and Marketplace in the beyond-life), but couldn’t tell us how every app programs its hardware (akin to the vast array of Mixtures, each with its own set of rules, hidden or otherwise). The Novel Universe Cult developed and continues to hone the NU Model as both a gateway to more Power on Earth, while simultaneously, a mechanism for Love to quell this somewhat innate desire to discover reality’s secrets. Either way, the NU Model’s intended to return our membership to what truly matters – co-creating novelty, while exploring our preference for Love or Power.
